MSIV Celebrates Launch

and a North Bay movement commences…

Marin Sonoma Impact Ventures Launch Party on October 20th, 2021 at Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma

The MSIV Community Convened, A Movement Commenced

October's Launch Party celebrated the inaugural gathering of the entire Marin Sonoma Impact Ventures (MSIV) community. MSIV’s newly formed robust and inclusive community is at the heart of its mission to nurture and elevate startup companies in the North Bay. By harnessing and leveraging the immeasurable human capital in Marin + Sonoma, the region’s startups will have a well-resourced ecosystem in which to thrive. Ultimately, by working together, the community is able to transform and encourage long-term economic growth for Marin + Sonoma, thus: a movement is born.

Zachary Kushel, Founder & Managing Partner of Marin Sonoma Impact Ventures, toasted the nearly 100 attendees and called on them to adopt a ‘Give First’ approach to startup community building (a philosophy borrowed from Brad Feld & David Cohen of TechStars). ‘Give First’ means community members should go out of their way to help others in the community without any expectation of personal gain. Attendees were asked to lead by example and seek out members of the North Bay Founder Network they can be of service to. The local startup founders themselves were encouraged to dive more deeply into the MSIV community and lean on their peers and prospective mentors to further the collaborative nature of the North Bay startup culture. Together, by giving first to support the local startup ecosystem, the MSIV community is fostering a movement that will positively impact the North Bay for many generations to come.
