MSIV Hosts 2nd Annual Day of Service
On August 25th, MSIV held the second annual Day of Service, bringing together twenty-five of our founders, investors, executive network and community partners, sponsors, and general community members to spend a few hours giving back to this beautiful place we call home.
The partner and beneficiary of this year’s Day of Service was NatureBridge, an environmental science program that facilitates exploration in National Parks for students of all ages. The program takes students out of the classroom and immerses them in nature to learn about their surroundings, exploration, and stewardship.
MSIV volunteers spent the morning at Rodeo Beach, weeding out the invasive species, ice plant. Ice plant spreads out over dunes, creating a dense ground cover that prohibits native plants from thriving, ultimately impacting the insects and animals in the regional ecosystem. Additionally, the group unpacked and gathered seeds from dried Lupine in the onsite native plant nursery. The Golden Gate Parks Conservancy’s stewardship program plants and protects the Lupine flowers, a critical habitat for the endangered Mission Blue Butterfly.
Thank you to the volunteers from the MSIV Community for your time and hard work on these important projects! Our Platinum Sponsors (Tri Counties Bank and LePage Center for Global Innovation) and Gold Sponsors (Redwood Credit Union, Cerity Partners, and North River Company) provided a beachside lunch for the volunteers.
Lastly, the NatureBridge Golden Gate campus hosts students from various backgrounds at programs made possible by earned income and contributions. Visit NatureBridge.org to learn more about getting involved.
