Jonathan Logan

Johnathan Logan, Jr. is Vice President for Community Engagement at the Marin Community Foundation (Novato, CA). He joined MCF in early 2016, initially in the role of Special Assistant to the President then segueing to his current role soon thereafter. As VP for Community Engagement, Johnathan is responsible for leading strategy and grantmaking for the Buck Family Fund of MCF. He also oversees the foundation’s community lending portfolio.

Before joining MCF, Johnathan worked in local government for 12 years both in Marin and Seattle, WA. He was the General Manager of the Marin City Community Services District, which is Marin City’s local government from 2005 to 2016.  As General Manager, Logan managed a variety of community services including garbage collection, parks and recreation, and street lighting services. He was also the district’s representative in interagency affairs and provided community leadership on a variety public policy issues including community redevelopment, transportation, health and wellness, land use, and economic development.   

In Marin City, he successfully redeveloped the George “Rocky” Graham Park and played an integral role in the development and opening of the Marin City Health and Wellness Clinic. He also oversaw the development and the renovated boxing gym. Before leaving, he oversaw the development of the proposed Marin City Community Center master plan—an approximate 40,000 sq/ft state-of-the-art multi-purpose community hub of learning, enrichment, and recreation. In support of this vision, he organized the Center’s $24M capital fundraising campaign.     

He has a Masters of Public Administration degree from City University of New York, Baruch College and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from Oral Roberts University. He is also a proud National Urban Fellow, a national network of public administrators of color working in public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors across the country. Logan has served on various nonprofit, academic, and government boards and commissions. He and his wife, Amber, have two young children, Axe and Aylee.
